Wrong Straw, Fish, Tea Plants

I want to grow my mushrooms organically, so I needed organic straw. I ordered some from the feed store. A bit spendy, but I'm still just beginning so don't need much yet. But a week later I got to looking at the boxes, and could not find anything that said 'organic'. If it was a plain bale I wouldn't expect any indication, of course, but these are boxed. I finally got in contact with someone at that company, Blue Mountain, and they confirmed that the bales are NOT organic, just certified weed free. So I wasted a bunch of money on them. The good news is that the company actually has a warehouse quite close to me (well, some sixty miles, but way closer than Washington state where they are based). And they did offer to sell me some from there.
This is what the gallon jar of mugolio is looking like now. Freezing lots more blueberries. We did get some fry from the outdoor trough again this year, so I have been trying to collect up a bunch before the bigger fish eat them. The tray in that tank is holding those that I've been able to snag. They will be released into that tank. The tray is only temporary to be able to see them more easily to see if they are surviving OK.
With a bit of TLC, the tea plants in the protected bed in the orchard seem to be doing well, so far. Below those are the small pots of Greek Mountain Tea and Greenthread that we planted late and hope to support through the fall, or maybe winter. The Greek Mountain Tea should do OK as it is a perennial, but the Navajo Tea might be more problematic. It can sustain pretty low temps, but is closer to an annual, setting seeds each year. So, an experiment.
